Footpath Repair Project in Waipu, Northland
This project took us outside our usual scope of work, but the circumstances made it important to help. Following a recent hip surgery, our customer needed a safe and secure footpath to her back door. Her original path, built 20 years ago with concrete paving blocks on loose sand and aggregate, had become unsafe despite the blocks themselves being in good condition.
We carefully lifted each block, cleaned away moss and algae, and removed roots that had grown underneath. Working closely with the customer, we adjusted the slope to ensure there were no steps, making it easier for her recovery. The blocks were then relaid on a sand and cement mix, with bonding agent applied for added adhesion. The result was a level, stable, and secure footpath that gave her confidence and peace of mind. Everyone was very pleased with the outcome.
